Summary
The second Policy Axis seeks to make a significant contribution to green transition and environmental sustainability, through the achievement of national targets for climate neutrality, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. It promotes reforms in the fields of climate and energy, sustainable transport, water resources management and the wider environment.
This axis is also the most important in terms of the overall contribution of the Plan to the climate targets, which reaches 41% of the total budget of the Plan, with actions over €500 million that are diffused in almost all policy areas.

The Scheme covers the following categories of investments:
CATEGORY A:
For charging an electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid vehicle- Category A covers:
- the installation/ expansion of a photovoltaic metering system (net-metering)
- the installation of smart meters in homes and
- the installation of a charging point (optional)
CATEGORY B:
For charging an electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid vehicle in a home where a photovoltaic metering system (net-metering) is already installed- Category B covers:
- the installation of smart meters
- the installation of a charging point
CATEGORY C:
For charging an electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid vehicle in a home where a photovoltaic metering system (net-metering) is already installed- Category C covers:
- the installation of smart meters
Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan
The Scheme provides financial incentives in the form of state grants for the following categories of investments:
CATEGORY A: Maximum Grant: € 2,250
CATEGORY B: Maximum Grant: € 1,250
CATEGORY C: Maximum Grant: € 750
