Summary

The second Policy Axis seeks to make a significant contribution to green transition and environmental sustainability, through the achievement of national targets for climate neutrality, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. It promotes reforms in the fields of climate and energy, sustainable transport, water resources management and the wider environment.

This axis is also the most important in terms of the overall contribution of the Plan to the climate targets, which reaches 41% of the total budget of the Plan, with actions over €500 million that are diffused in almost all policy areas.

Scheme E-Mobility Promotion Plan in Cyprus – 2nd announcement December 2022

Detailed Call Description

This announcement, under which the 2 corresponding Grant Schemes whose 1st announcement was published in December 2021 have been consolidated, includes:

  • sponsorship for the purchase of vehicles with zero CO2 emissions (purely electric vehicles),
  • sponsorship for the purchase of an electric bicycle (assisted cycling),
  • retirement of old polluting vehicles in combination with subsidizing the purchase of vehicles with low carbon dioxide emissions (with a CO2 emission limit of 50g/km),
  • withdrawal of an old polluting vehicle in combination with the payment of an amount for the subsidy for the purchase of an electric bicycle (assisted cycling) and a supplementary lump sum
  • retirement of an old polluting vehicle in combination with the provision of bus tickets and the payment of a supplementary lump sum.

Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan

The amount of the grant ranges from €750 to €40,000, depending on the category of the grant. The grant categories and grant amounts for each category are included in the Scheme Guide.
