Maritime Policy and Fisheries Invitations 2007-2013
Summary
The Fisheries Operational Program (FFP) 2007-2013 is co-financed by the European Fisheries Fund and it defines the priorities and objectives of the fishing sector, as well as the strategy to achieve them for the period 2007-2013. The total amount of public expenditure of the FFP amounts to approximately 39.5 million euros, where the community and national participation amount to 50%, respectively.
The policy objectives for the fisheries sector during the programming period 2007-2013 include the rational management of fisheries resources, the sustainable development of aquaculture and the processing and marketing sector, the development of fishing areas, the protection of the marine environment, the improvement of fishing infrastructure, but also the creation of jobs in the fishing sector.
