Programme Description
Horizon Europe is the European Union (EU) funding programme for the period 2021 – 2027, which targets the sectors of research and innovation. The programme’s budget is around € 95.5 billion, of which € 5.4 billion is from NextGenerationEU to stimulate recovery and strengthen the EU’s resilience in the future, and € 4.5 billion is additional aid.

Detailed Call Description
The designated KIC consortium shall achieve operational and legal readiness, set up strategies, rules and procedures for its long-term partnership growth, as well as develop KIC’s communication policy contributing to the EIT visibility.
The designated consortium shall submit a proposal for their Start-up Plan and the estimated budget in accordance with the conditions laid down in the “Invitation for a 2022-2023 Start-up Plan proposal and estimated budgetin the area of Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI)”.
The purpose of the start-up grant is to cover activities that are necessary to setting up a KIC, covering legal, operational, governance, strategic outlook, and other aspects.
The KIC is expected to create the following impact:
- technological/economic/innovation impact by influencing the creation and growth of companies, as well as the creation of new innovative solutions to address the global challenges, creating direct and indirect jobs and mobilising additional public and private investments;
- scientific and educational impact by, strengthening human capital in research and innovation, enhancing innovative and entrepreneurial skills both at individual and organisational levels and fostering the creation and diffusion of knowledge and innovation openly within society;
- societal impact, including the impact derived by the delivery of systematic solutions within and beyond the EIT Community, also through Cross-KIC activities, by addressing EU policy priorities in the cultural and creative sectors and industries (CCSI) through innovative solutions, engagement with citizens and end-users and by strengthening the uptake of innovative solutions in these areas in society.
