A roadmap towards the creation of the European partnership on One Health antimicrobial resistance (OH AMR)
Summary
The Cluster Health is under Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe. Its role is to advance knowledge and capabilities, improve understanding of health and diseases, develop innovative methodological and technological solutions to better manage health and diseases, as well as to design sustainable approaches for the digital transformation and delivery of integrated, person-centred and equitable health and care services.

Horizon Europe is the European Union (EU) funding programme for the period 2021 – 2027, which targets the sectors of research and innovation. The programme’s budget is around € 95.5 billion, of which € 5.4 billion is from NextGenerationEU to stimulate recovery and strengthen the EU’s resilience in the future, and € 4.5 billion is additional aid.

Detailed Call Description
Proposals should cover all of the following activities:
- Development of a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for a comprehensive approach to inform the expected future European partnership on One Health antimicrobial resistance (OH AMR).
- Integration of key actors for AMR encompassing the field of human, veterinary and environmental disciplines and the broad spectrum of pathogens, including fungi and viruses.
- Robust communication and effective information exchange between diverse scientific disciplines and among multiple sectors of the society that are implicated such as patients, clinicians, veterinarians, pharmacists, food producers, pharmaceutical industry, policy makers and researchers.
International cooperation, including with low- and middle-income countries where AMR is highly prevalent and prone to spread to Europe, is strongly encouraged. Proposals should build on, be complementary to and go beyond existing initiatives such as the JPIAMR, the One Health EJP and ICARS. It should also implement collaborative activities with International organisations (see p. 79 from the work programme). It should also be a pan-European consortium with a large geographical coverage of European countries. The proposal selected for funding is expected to interact with other relevant projects funded under other topics and other clusters to ensure synergies on cross-cutting challenges of common interest.
