Summary

The actions supported under Key Action 2 (KA2) are expected to contribute significantly to the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, to bring positive and long-lasting effects on the participating organisations, on the policy systems in which such actions are framed as well as on the organisations and persons directly or indirectly involved in the organised activities.

Depending on the field addressed and the type of applicant, these actions are managed either by the National Agencies or by the Education, Audio-visual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

KA2 – Partnerships in the fields of education, training and youth submitted by any organisation in these fields, with the exception of European NGOs

Detailed Call Description

The partnership may organise learning, teaching and training activities for staff, youth workers, learners and young people in order to support project implementation and the achievement of the project objectives. The learning,  teaching and training activities can take any form relevant for the project and may involve more than one type of participants, individually or as a group. The format, purpose and the type and number of participants in the proposed activities will be described and justified as part of the project application.

While writing proposals, the horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ programme must also be taken into consideration and these are:

  • Inclusion and Diversity.
  • Environmental sustainability and action against climate change.
  • Digitisation.
  • Common values, civic engagement and participation.

In the context of this call, there are also specific priorities that need to be taken into account when writing proposals.

Firstly, in the field of higher education is important to:

  • promote inter-connected higher education systems
  • stimulate innovative learning and teaching practices
  • develop STEM/STEAM in higher education, in particular women participation in STEM
  • reward excellence in learning, teaching and skills development
  • build inclusive
  • higher education systems
  • support digital capabilities of the higher education sector

Furthermore, in the field of school education, priority will be given to:

  • Tackling learning disadvantage, early school leaving and low proficiency in basic skills
  • Supporting teachers, school leaders and other teaching professions
  • Development of key competences
  • Promoting a comprehensive approach to language teaching and learning
  • Promoting interest and excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and the STEAM approach
  • Developing high quality early childhood education and care systems
  • Recognition of learning outcomes for participants in cross-border learning mobility

In the field of vocational education and training, priority will be given to:

  • Adapting vocational education and training to labour market needs
  • Increasing the flexibility of opportunities in vocational education and training
  • Contributing to innovation in vocational education and training
  • Increasing attractiveness of VET
  • Improving quality assurance in vocational education and training
  • Creation and implementation of internationalisation strategies for VET providers

In the field of adult education priority will be given to:

  • Improving the availability of high quality learning opportunities for adults
  • Creating upskilling pathways, improving accessibility and increasing take-up of adult education
  • Improving the competences of educators and other adult education staff
  • Enhancing quality assurance in adult education
  • Developing forward-looking learning centres
  • Promoting Erasmus+ among all citizens and generations

In the field of youth:

  • Promoting active citizenship, young people’s sense of initiative and youth entrepreneurship including social entrepreneurship
  • Increasing quality, innovation and recognition of youth work
  • Strengthening the employability of young people
  • Reinforcing links between policy, research and practice

Lastly in the field of sport priorities include:

  • Encouraging the participation in sport and physical activity
  • Promoting integrity and values in sport
  • Promoting education in and through sport
  • Combating violence and tackling racism, discrimination and intolerance in sport and tackling violent radicalisation

In order to be considered for funding, proposals under this call must address at least one horizontal priority and / or at least one specific priority related to education, training, youth and sport.

As projects approved under this call will be managed by the national body for Erasmus + in Cyprus, applicants must also take into consideration the priorities (from the above-mentioned) which the national body considers to be of particular importance in the national context.

Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan

The total project grant is between € 100,000 and € 400,000 for projects with a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum duration of 36 months.
