In the transport sector, the programme will promote interconnected and multimodal networks in order to develop and modernise rail, road, inland waterway and maritime infrastructure, as well as ensuring safe and secure mobility.

The Connecting Europe Facility is a key EU funding instrument to promote growth, jobs and competitiveness through infrastructure investment at European level.

Detailed Call Description
The scope of the topic is described in terms of individual elements. A proposal shall fully cover at least one of these elements, but should also aim at addressing as many elements as possible:
- Increased automation support
- New HMI interaction modes and technologies for Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU)
- Flight-centric demonstrator to improve ANS productivity
- Near-real-time traffic management in sequence- or flow-based coupled AMAN-DMAN (Arrival – Departure Management tools) environmment
- Use of enriched Demand Capacity Balance (DCB) Information and enhanced what-ifs to improve flight planning, including the Network Manager (NM) flight plan approval process
- Improving the connectivity between regional airports and the NM
- Operating a multilink communications infrastructure
- Integrated ground–ground back-up voice between remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) pilots and ATC
- The initial demonstration of the next generation of air–ground datalink via LDACS

Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan
- maximum 50% for the costs of studies,
- maximum 50% for the cost of works,
- maximum 70% for the costs of works in outermost regions (with the exception of the RIS and REMIB topics).

- be legal entities (public or private bodies)
- be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:
- EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs)
- third countries associated to the CEF
