Summary
The second Policy Axis seeks to make a significant contribution to green transition and environmental sustainability, through the achievement of national targets for climate neutrality, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. It promotes reforms in the fields of climate and energy, sustainable transport, water resources management and the wider environment.
This axis is also the most important in terms of the overall contribution of the Plan to the climate targets, which reaches 41% of the total budget of the Plan, with actions over €500 million that are diffused in almost all policy areas.

The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (YEEB) announces that the submission of applications under the Grant Scheme for the Promotion of Energy Efficiency Investments by Small and Medium Enterprises and Non-Profit Organisations began on 13/07/2022 and the application submission deadline has been extended until 21/12/2023 at 23.59 pm or until the available budget of €40 million is exhausted (relevant announcement at https://bit.ly/40NmTJP).
The Grant Scheme aims to promote energy saving investments in buildings and facilities owned and/or used by small and medium-sized enterprises and non-profit organizations. Specifically, energy efficiency measures are targeted at existing buildings, as well as at existing facilities, infrastructures and production units that currently have high energy consumption. The main objective is to reduce primary energy consumption by 30% on average by all supported businesses.

Eligibility For Participation Notes
Beneficiaries are existing small and medium-sized enterprises of all economic sectors, except those falling under the Plan’s exclusion list (Appendix C of the Application Guide). Also covered are investments by non-profit organizations that do not engage in economic activity and are registered either as Charitable Foundations or as Monastic / Ecclesiastical / Other Religious Authorities (for investments in monastic residences).
