It is expected to co-create new solutions, products and services with citizens, empowering them to implement innovations in their communities and trigger change by actively influencing local policies.
Applicants must address at least one of the four defined EIT Community NEB Challenge Areas based on the following NEB four thematic axes:
- Reconnecting with nature
- Regaining a sense of belonging
- Prioritising the places and people that need it the most
- The need for long-term, life cycle thinking in the industrial ecosystem

To help applicants with the preparation and submission of their proposals, the EIT Community NEB will host an online information session on 31 July 2023. This online information event will be focused on the call content, the challenges, and requirements, as well as on the general procedures, such as the submission and evaluation process, the financial aspects and the monitoring and reporting activities. Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan
The funding rate is 75%.
Partners in the consortium may have different co-funding rates as long as the overall project co-fund meets the required 25% minimum.
Eight projects will be selected with the maximum funding of €45 000 per project.
Eligibility For Participation Notes
The call is open to legal entities (private or public, KIC partners or not) established in Member States (MS) of the European Union (EU), and/or in Third countries associated to Horizon Europe.
Applications must be consortia of a minimum 2 partners and a maximum of 4 partners. One of these partners must be a City, region or an affiliated entity to a City or region located in an EU Member State or a Third Country associated to Horizon Europe.
At least 2 of the partners must be independent from each other.
